For Farmers

  • Your farm qualifies to apply for the fund if you are a vendor at any of the three SFMA Farmers Markets (Ballard, Madrona, Wallingford).

  • The application is available on our Programs page.

  • There is no set amount of funds that is granted. The amount of funds that a farm is eligible for is determined by the amount of damage or hardship & the budget of the fund.  

  • We expect recipients to utilize the funds in accordance with their initial application and intended purposes. 

For Volunteers

    • The volunteer application is available online on our Volunteer page.  

    • FARMore WA is fundraising at the Ballard Farmers Market every Sunday year-round. You can apply to volunteer on-site.  

  • The time commitment is whatever YOU can spare in time or expertise. We’d like to thank you in advance for investing your valuable time in us.

  • Volunteer opportunities are available year-round at the Ballard Farmers Market and during the months May-September at the Wallingford Farmers Market. 

  • This program is designed to unite agricultural and urban communities through volunteerism, education, and mentorship. Volunteers support farmers on their farms, at farmers markets, and assist local organizations with aligned missions. 

For Donors

  • Your donation directly impacts farmers by funding the following programs and initiatives: 

    • Farm Relief Fund: Provides disaster assistance to farmers in need. 

    • Fuel Fund: Helps farmers travel to farmers markets. 

    • Sweat Equity Program: Covers expenses related to volunteer support on farms and at markets. 

    • Merchandise: Supports further fundraising efforts. 

  • Farmers must first apply for emergency funds through FARMore. Their application is then vetted by a board for relevance and qualifications. The board may ask for further documentation, photographs or schedule a farm visit before granting emergency funds.  

    • The amount of funds that a farm is eligible for is determined by the amount of damage or hardship & the budget of the fund. 

    • If a farm is specified for a donation, the full amount is awarded to that farm.  

    • We expect recipients to utilize the funds in accordance with their initial application and intended purposes. 

    • Fuel funds are a set amount & distributed equally amongst farmers. Farmers redeem funds by providing a reimbursement form and a receipt.
