Plant a Seed
🌱 Plant a Seed & Save the Bees! 🐝
Sunday, May 18, 2025 | Bergen Place at The Ballard Farmers Market
Recommended Donation: $5
Join us for the 4th annual Plant a Seed event—a celebration of pollinators, plants, and community!
This year, we’re shining a spotlight on the often-overlooked Mason Bee, a pollination powerhouse. Unlike honeybees, which lose most of their pollen when they clean themselves, Mason Bees carry nearly 100% of the pollen they collect, making them incredibly efficient at helping plants thrive. Come learn more!
Your support helps provide materials and educational outreach. Donations of $10 or more include a raffle ticket for a chance to win great prizes!
🌼 What to Expect 🌼
Pollinator Education: Learn from student mentors of the Ballard High Greenhouse Club & experts from Tilth’s Garden Hotline about the vital role of bees, flowers, and even weeds in pollination.
Hands-On Planting: Plant a seed, take it home, and watch it grow!
Garden & Pollinator Tips: Discover ways to create bee-friendly spaces while reducing pesticide use.
Community Connection: A fun, interactive event for all ages!
Come plant, learn, and grow with us as we nurture ecosystems and strengthen our community. See you there! 🌿🐝
