Plant A Seed

  • Ballard Farmers Market 5345 Ballard Avenue Northwest Seattle, WA, 98107 United States (map)

There’s something miraculous about a seedling as it starts to grow. Anyone who has poked toothpicks into the sides of an avocado seed and watched it unfurl its first bright green leaf or planted a bean seed in science class will understand.

Join us for the 3rd annual Plant A Seed event featuring Educator India Carlson’s Ballard High Plant Club, Matthew Davis's Nathan Hale Urban Farm, and Tilth Alliance’s Garden Hotline. Community gardening experts will share their knowledge, bringing forth the beauty of Spring.

Plant a seed, take it home, watch it grow, be amazed at nature's wonders!

There will be hands-on activities for all ages, allowing you to experience the joy of nurturing life firsthand.

Student horticultural lovers will serve in mentorship to our community about the pollinating power of flowers, weeds, shrubs & bees.

The Garden Hotline emphasizes educating people about pollinator life cycles, creating pollinator-friendly gardens, and reducing pesticide usage, all of which contribute to supporting pollinators and other beneficial insects.

Recommended Donation: $5.00 for materials & support our mission of promoting public education within our communities. (Raffle ticket included with donations $5.00 and more)

Join us for a day of planting seeds and fostering community growth! Let's share in the fun as we nurture ecosystems and cultivate connections. See you there!
